Crops can be prone to deficiencies of essential micro-nutrients. In the case of cruciferous and brassica crops, Boron and Molybdenum deficiency can cause yield loss and damage plant tissues.
Deficiencies can occur when the soil contains insufficient nutrient reserves, or when the plant root system is compromised and unable to take up sufficient nutrients from the soil. Lack of nutrient uptake can be affected by factors including soil pH, compaction, waterlogging etc.
